Vapac is an electrode boiler steam humidifier
designed to provide dry/sterile steam for humidification.
Vapac is available from Simons in a range of unit sizes
providing steam outputs from l kg/h up to 90 kg/h. Multiple
linked units can be installed to increase this range.
The cabinets are designed with two separate compartments;
one containing the steam boiler and the other the electrical
controls. The two compartments are separated by an air gap
so that the temperature, which could be 100°C in the
boiler section, is not transmitted to the electrical components.
The steam boiler which contains the heating electrodes is
a polypropylene moulding. Depending upon the model, steam
boilers can have 2, 3, 6 or 12 electrodes. The boiler outlet
is connected by a steam hose to a steam distributor pipe
mounted in the duct of the air conditioning system. The
polypropylene steam boiler can either be disposable or cleanable.
A comprehensive lamp display with operating switches is
provided on a facia panel on each unit. After commissioning
the Vapac operates entirely automatically. The Vapac is
designed to always fail safe in the event of failure of
water or electrical supplies. The maximum operating temperature
in a Vapac never exceeds 100°C.
Easy to Maintain, the disposable cylinder
can be changed in minutes. Simply switch the unit to drain
to empty the existing cylinder, unclip the hose and lift
out the cylinder. Fitting the new cylinder is just as easy
and all Vapac cylinders are manufactured from recyclable
materials, so helping to conserve precious resources.
Applications In air conditioning systems where a selfcontained
and reliable source of steam is required for humidification
purposes, requirements which are frequently met in the following
applications:- Computer installations, Churches, Hospitals,
Art galleries, Museums, Libraries, Laboratories, Film processing,
Clean rooms, Theatres, Paper processing and storage, Printing,
Telephone exchanges, Concert halls.
